Parity Challenge: Amplifies an Imbalance

 

For Ambyometer and Equalizer Games.  First the game (test) is played with the parity filter over one eye and then the game is repeated with the parity filter over the opposite eye.  The results of the two tests are compared.

Compares the endpoints after adding a given neutral density filter first to one eye and then to the other eye, The Parity filter adds to the defective side and subtracts from the unaffected side; doubling the size of the defect is the net change.  Confirms and amplifies the afferent defect. Useful for confirm a small defect of 0.3 or 0.6. Parity Challenge filter required (sold separately)

Add Parity Filter to Left Eye and Test, then add Parity Filter to Right Eye and Test. Amplifies the Defect
Choose Right Eye Challenge
Dial-in RIGHT Eye.
Put on RIGHT Parity Glasses
The 0.9 log filter dims the right eye. With a 0.3 left eye defect, the right eye is now dimmer by 0.6 log units. The result will 0.6 OD.

Left Eye Challenge
Dial-in the LEFT eye prior to testing.
Put on LEFT Parity Glasses
The 0.9 log filter dims the left eye. With a 0.3 left eye defect, the left eye is now dimmer by 1.2 log units. The result will 1.2 OS.
